The 'Golden Donghaeng Festival,' a large-scale discount and promotion event to expand sales channels for small and medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises, is shining even brighter with its unique promotional effects. Unlike in the past when product sales were the main focus, starting this year, it has highlighted the true meaning of the Donghaeng Festival through various challenge-type events in which people of all ages participate together, and it is also leading to a substantial increase in sales.


According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the 25th, the sales performance of the Golden Donghaeng Festival, which has been held since the 30th of last month, recently exceeded 1 trillion KRW, approaching the initial target of 1.2 trillion KRW.


Experts point to the 'Donghaeng Festival Corporate Challenge' planned by the Ministry as one of the driving forces behind the Golden Donghaeng Festival's success this year. It succeeded in inducing the interest of the main consumer group by bringing out both fun and participation. In fact, the challenge video of throwing and standing a water bottle while saying 'Donghaeng' is gaining popularity, with cumulative views on social network services (SNS) exceeding 2.7 million. Many children as well as foreigners are participating in the simple and fun movements. The previous adult-centered Donghaeng Festival challenge has transformed into a challenge where everyone, including children and foreigners, 'walks together' (Donghaeng).


Famous influencers also contributed to the Donghaeng Festival. Emet Sound is the protagonist. Emet Sound is an influencer specializing in challenges who planned the 'Earth Defense Force Challenge' and 'Gucci Challenge,' which recorded millions of views on SNS. In collaboration with Emet Sound, the Ministry planned the 'Take It Challenge' in line with the slogan 'Donghaeng Festival that hits the jackpot when together.' This challenge expresses the hearts of small business owners who want people to 'take all' the jackpot products of the Donghaeng Festival with fun dance moves. The 'Take It Challenge' music video featuring Emet Sound is receiving a good response, recording 150,000 views and 1,000 likes.
