Written byStartupNDate2023-10-13

Content startup Kroma Entertainment (CEO Kim Yo-han) introduced classic film renewal content to audiences through a GV (Guest Visit) screening at the 'Busan International Film Festival Community BIFF' held on October 7th.

Kroma Entertainment is a new media content startup composed of creators in their 20s and 30s. Based on trendy planning, they have produced numerous 'killer contents' and created the 'Yeongja's Video Store' series in collaboration with the Korean Film Archive this year.

'Yeongja's Video Store' is a work that reinterprets various scenes from classic films into modern episodes—such as office life, social drinking, and marriage—making them interesting for the younger generation. It has been praised for contributing to the popularization of classic films.

During the GV, moderated by Director Kim Hong-jun of the Korean Film Archive, Producer Kim So-yeon of Kroma Entertainment drew attention by candidly sharing the behind-the-scenes stories of producing the classic film renewal content.

Producer Kim So-yeon shared, 'It was a fascinating task to watch over 150 classic films one by one, encountering tens of thousands of scenes ranging from the unusual to the familiar. It is an honor to be part of this precious work that introduces Korean classic films to the young 2030 generation and all generations beyond.'

The 'Yeongja's Video Store' content is available on the Korean Film Archive's YouTube channel. Other content about classic films, such as 'Top-a-bogi' with Cine21 reporter Kim So-mi and 'Scene-nario,' which compares scripts with actual films, are also available.

Meanwhile, Kroma Entertainment is growing as a young leader in the media market through partnerships with numerous media companies such as Disney+, CJ ENM, KBS, and HYBE, and is also excelling in securing content IPs by planning and developing its own original content.
